The agriculture teacher should assess the practical work carried out by candidates. This entails keeping a
record for all the candidates, showing the operations carried out and the marks awarded.
It is the responsibility of the teacher to ensure that the work planned is safe and legally permitted by local
legislation. It is recommended that the teacher carry out a simple risk assessment for each of the practical
tasks and investigations to ensure that the health and safety of the candidates are not put at risk by the planned
activities. See the Coursework Handbook for more information on health and safety.
